Introduction

Getting started with LoRa and Zafron is easy. This guide will help you get started with LoRa and Zafron.

What is LoRa?

LoRa is a long-range, low-power wireless communication technology developed by Semtech. It is designed to allow low-powered devices to communicate with Internet-connected applications over long-range wireless connections. LoRa is a popular choice for IoT applications because of its long-range capabilities and low power consumption.

Zafron Data Flow with LoRa

Zafron Data Flow with LoRa

Zafron supports LoRaWAN devices a select Network Servers. The data flow with LoRaWAN devices is as follows:

  1. A Source in Zafron provides an HTTP endpoint to ingest data from LoRa Network Servers such as The Things Network.
  2. The LoRa Network Server sends data to the HTTP endpoint.
  3. A Profile in Zafron is used to decode and normalize the data for storage and visualization.
  4. Multiple devices can use the same profile allowing you to reuse the same decoding logic.

Supported Network Servers

  • The Things Network
  • ChirpStack
  • Helium
